1. Product Manager
Summary
MLSListings provides brokers and agents with mission critical software that enables the transaction of real estate listings in the greater Bay Area. Facilitating $40 billion in real estate transactions each year, MLSListings has positioned itself as a pivotal player in the current wave of data-sharing and consolidation initiatives in California and across the nation. We are looking for a product manager who is passionate about real estate, and who is willing to roll up his/her sleeves in the effort to move towards the new consolidated, forward-thinking MLS.
Responsibilities:
Analyze subscriber requirements through the use of focus groups, surveys, and other research tools to understand customer needs and priorities
Translate customer feedback into detailed requirements documents
Collaborate with user interface team to develop wireframes demonstrating the navigation and flow of web interface
Work with developers and QA engineers to ensure that the product vision and requirements are properly executed
Provide input to Marketing Communications for product messaging and positioning, and collaborate on launch materials as needed
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure that other departments are ready to support, train, and represent new features/releases
Qualifications:
· BA/BS degree with 8+ years total work experience
· 3 years experience in product management at an Internet or software company
· Track record of developing, launching and running web applications
· Experience managing products across the entire product lifecycle
· Strong analytical skills with ability to make and champion decisions with limited data when necessary
· Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally including with engineering, marketing communications, customer service, training, and subscriber services
· Effective presentation, communication, and influencing skills
· Background or work experience in the real estate industry helpful but not required

2. Project/Product Manager
SUMMARY
The Product/Project Manager is a hybrid position that blends together product management and project management. This individual will spend roughly half of the time on defining new features and functions for the MLS system, and the other half coordinating, communicating, and tracking projects. These projects are technical in nature - understanding the software development process, development lifecycles, and the characteristics of these types of projects will be key to your success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product management duties include:
• Analyze subscriber requirements; conduct focus groups, surveys, and other research tools to understand requirements and priorities of features
• Manage vendor selection process for MLS system soup to nuts: translate requirements into RFP, evaluate and select vendor, develop roadmap and monitor progress of implementation
• Provide input to Marketing Communications for product messaging and positioning, and collaborate on launch materials as needed
• Collaborate with operational teams to ensure that other departments are ready to support, train, and represent new features/releases
Project management duties include:
• Work with project resources to develop realistic schedules.
• Act as liaison between business and development staff; communicate requirements and coordinate work with all project participants.
• Work with the development team and serve as the primary delivery contact to the business owner and other delivery stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain a project plan for the software development activities, including resource allocation.
• Confirm the validity of project estimations and assumptions at key milestones.
• Identify and manage dependencies and critical path. Manage changes to requirements and estimates.
• Identify, track and mitigate project risks.
• Monitor, report on and act to achieve project convergence to schedule, features and quality.
• Establish and maintain a project communication plan, including meetings, agendas, minutes, tasks, status reports and ongoing information exchange; report on project progress and issues to management and business stakeholders.
• Apply and adapt policies, methodologies, tools and processes for effective project management.
QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS degree with 5+ years product mngt/project mngt experience
• 3 years experience in product management at an Internet or software company
• Track record of developing, launching and running web applications
• Experience managing products across the entire product lifecycle
• Strong analytical skills with ability to make and champion decisions with limited data when necessary
• Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally including with engineering, marketing communications, customer service, training, and subscriber services
• Effective presentation, communication, and influencing skills
• Working knowledge of and experience with software development processes and procedures as well as web application architecture, .Net and SQL Server.
• Overall ability to understand technical issues.
• Self motivator that plans and manages time well; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Background or work experience in the real estate industry helpful but not required
• Project Management certifications from either the Project Management Institute or a specialized training program are encouraged.
